  2. Kills adult fleas shortly after contact
  3. Residuals target pupating fleas that emerged after treatment

All pets must be treated prior to or on the same day that your home is being treated. We also recommend that your pet should be on a cycle of Frontline or Advantage flea treatment, whichever your vet recommends.

Bed bugs are small insects that feed on the blood of warm, blooded animals. They have this in common with mosquitoes; however, they do not fly. Nor do they jump like a flea. Bed bugs are hitchhiking pests that will grab a ride on items like purses and luggage. They have earned the name bed bug because they are often found in beds, sofas, and other human “nesting” areas. Once they invade, they quickly spread. They spend most of their time hiding and are usually active at night. They generally avoid light and do not like to be disturbed. There is no evidence that shows bed bugs transmit disease, but bed bug bites can cause an allergic reaction.

A bed bug liquid treatment is the most cost effective form of treatment. Metropolis will conduct a thorough inspection, paying attention to critical areas where these pests might hide. Our treatment will target bed bugs under baseboards, electric outlets, furniture, beds, dressers, closets, and mattress seams.

Preparation for the bed bug treatment is critical. For best results, follow the preparation, instructions below, the more time spent on proper preparation will be rewarded with faster results.

  • Pick clothes up off the floor. It’s important that the floors be free and cleared of clutter. Clothing should be laundered.
  • Declutter, this will assist in removing potential bedbug harborages. Check the Items for signs of infestation.
  • Move all furniture items two feet away from the walls and baseboards to allow access.
  • Empty dresser drawers and any storage under the beds. Clothing should be Laundered. Clothing can be left in the closets, but access will be needed to baseboards and tops of shelving.
  • Remove all sheets, covers, dust ruffles, comforters, pillows, and other bedding covers from your mattress and box springs in all bedrooms.
  • Clothing and bed linens should be washed in the Hottest water possible. Dry at High heat for at least 40 minutes. Place clean items in large garbage bags and seal until the treatment is completed.
  • Remove mattresses and box springs from the bedframe and place them against the wall.
  • Vacuum baseboards, and areas of heavy dust buildup. Dispose of the bag afterwards.
  • Pet bedding should be laundered. Fish tanks and terrariums should be covered.

DO NOT RE-ENTER TREATED AREAS FOR 4 HOURS AFTER SERVICE.

DO NOT SPRAY ANY PESTICIDES OR CLEANING PRODUCTS IN TREATED AREAS AFTER THE TREATMENT. THIS WILL RESULT IN CONTROL FAILURE.

Allow the treatment time to work, do not clean or remove the spray barriers. In most cases barriers will have been applied in inconspicuous areas, but if an infestation was suspected behind baseboards or electrical outlets, a 2″ spray barrier may have been applied on the wall above or around these installations. Under certain lighting conditions, these barriers may be visible. Leave these in place until you are certain that the infestation has been eradicated. The barrier will remain active for up to 3 months if left undisturbed, but is easily removed with kitchen or bathroom cleaner when required.

Live bed bugs may be visible for 2-3 weeks after the treatment. Affected bed bugs may be seen wandering in unusual places, this is a sign that the treatment is working. Remember that bed bugs may not leave the harborage areas for a number of days after treatment, and nymphs hatching from eggs will not be affected until they cross a spray barrier. However, all bed bugs will die within 3-7 days after coming in contact with the treatment. Heavy infestations may require a follow up treatment. This service is guaranteed for 90 days.
